Loving Making Ornaments

Just wanted to show you some more of the fun ornaments I have been making such as this little snowflake all adorned in glitz and romance. I am having the best time creating different ornaments for my tree.

And I have always wanted one of these beautiful stockings for my mantle so decided to try my hand and it and this is what I came up with. It will be so gorgeous in my "pink" Christmas room.

These snowflakes are so fun and fast to make. LoVe them!!!

And my little angels covered with scrapbook paper and glittered to the hilt. Isn't she sweet? All for now, back to the crafting table. Have a wonderful week. See you Saturday, hoping to show you my holiday decor.

In The Christmas Mood

Yes, I'm in the Christmas mood and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. Don't get me wrong, I am not overlooking the day of giving thanks, because I have so MUCH to be thankful for and I thank God every day for the blessing He gives me, but the crafter in me wants to CRAFT!!!!!! And Christmas crafts are so much fun. You just can't go wrong putting a Christmas ornament together. Isn't this pink number just awesome?

I think I will be making some more of these for sure.

And the cream colored one will look great on the same white tree. Love the little jingle bells on the bottom. It is so fun to find just the perfect image to put on these ornaments.

These didn't cost me a penny, I put some of my stash together and wa-la!!

Elegant Christmas Ornies

Good morning my friends, just thought I would check in and show you what I am up to this morning. I'm in the process of making these beautiful elegant Christmas ornaments.

Adorning simple balls with all kinds of lace, beads, tulle and roses.

Tammy and I had planned a crafting day today but things didn't work out due to illness, so I'm going it alone.

I have plenty of supplies and time so will be fu-fuing these beauties to the hilt today, I'm not done with them, just starting.

Isn't it fun to embellish with glitter and fluff? I think so. Hoping these will turn out beautiful so my pink and white tree this year will have a hint of aqua, I think those colors are so beautiful together.

I'm in the Christmas ornament making mood, go create something.

(Good news, my friend Sharon found out this week from a cat scan that her tumors have shrunk so we are praising God for this miracle. Please keep her in your prayers)

Fall Decorating

Hello my bloggy friends!!! Today I am showing my fall decorations I put up today. I have not fine tuned them, just decided to take down the Halloween decor and up with the Fall decorating. Tammy visited me last night and hyped me into the fall decorating mode.

I am pretty much sticking to the ivory, brown, and rust theme with this Thanksgiving Fall decor this year. I am really liking it, since it makes a cleaner appearance to me.

But I had to add some color here and there with the beautiful picks I bought last year. You will probably see some of these picks at Tammys home also, since we bought them at the same time last year.

Think I've shown you this picture before but just love it so it's worth another show. Covered the pumpkins in the pedestal with dictionary paper.

I tried white washing these little pumpkins to make them not so bright orange. Think I like them, but thinking about some more glitter.

White isn't it, but I am loving it so much. My home was so dark for a lot of years, say 25 and once I got that paintbrush in my hand, there is now LIGHT in a dark world, lol.

ANTIQUE PROM DRESS FIND

Last weekend my best friend Sharon and I went to an estate sale in our city and wow.......this sale had enormous bunches of great finds! But the most amazing find was this lovely pink tulle, ruffly prom dress from 1959. It is homemade also. Mint condition. Well, the day we went we spotted the dress and I fell in love with it, but wondered where I would put it in my overfull home. So I bit the bullet and left the sale without it.

After pondering all night about it I knew the sale was for the next day also and that it was half price day so went back at 7:00 AM and lo and behold the dress was still there. And who do you think I saw there but my dear friend Sharon, ready to buy me the dress because she knew I loved it so! That is the way she is, always trying to please me. I am so blessed to have her as a friend.

Please pray for Sharon, she has been diagnosed with cancer. I am praying for a miracle.

She held it up for me so I could get a couple of shots of it (the day before) so I could post about it.

Isn't this the most gorgeous dress? And guess how much it cost. $9.00.

I know, amazing! S-C-O-R-E!!

What is really amazing is this dress is handmade by the owners mother who is now deceased and she let this beauty be sold!! She told me she wore it to our local May Fete in 1959 which is a tradition of the High School each May for graduation. She was a Junior. At May Fete, the girls dress in their beautiful finery and wrap a maypole and walk across the curved bridge over the lake. It is beautiful. I did it my Junior year also.

But well, when I got it home to put on my dress form Miss Olivia, she was too big to wear this beauty so for now I just have her hung on a hanger, but you can bet I will find a form that fits the dress.

From Roses to Halloween Decor

I finally got busy and made some Halloween cuties for my fall season of decorating. It went from my pink haven to black and white for Halloween and will just do the creams and earthtones for fall. I'm liking the change for awhile. I made this cute little BOO to drape over my fireplace screen.

This is what it looked like in the room PRE Halloween!!

This Boo hanging turned out better than I anticipated. I was on a staycation and had time to really relax and create. That helps you know.

I made the ghost and my daughter Tammy made the Happy Halloween treat basket for a tea she hosted. (The full story on that is below).

What is Halloween without a skeleton?

I covered some old orange pumpkins with some pages from a dictionary and white washed some other pumpkins.

I made fabric pumpkins out of some left over fabric and embellished them with flowers and ribbon. This one is from some eyelet fabric I had.

I am really loving the cream color scheme I have going in this room. I will probably add some more color for Thanksgiving season. Hope you enjoyed this little tour of my room makeover. See you soon friends!!!

Flower Tutorial & A Tea Party

Today I am sharing with you a special tea my daughter Tammy had for a fellow blogger, now friend, Miss Sherry of Country Wings In Phoenix and also a flower tutorial below. Sherry was here visiting her parents and Tammy offered to have a tea in honor of her visit. As always, Tammy out did herself in all the preparations of this beautiful tea. Lots of good eats and eye candy all over her home. I am sure she will post about this tea herself so be sure to check on her blog, not sure when she will post it.

And Sherry and myself. We didn't plan wearing the Halloween colors, just turned out that way, lol.

The beautiful tablescape Tammy designed for the tea, see the little name place gift boxes at each place setting. It was full of treats and love.

I brought these cute little acorn treats. Donut holes dipped in Nutella and dipped in pecans with a pretzel stuck in top. Good too. A good time was had by all. Sherry called Marydon while she was there and we all got to talk to sweet Marydon which was a treat for me. Be sure to check out Tammys blog for more on this great tea party.

Now, onto the paper rose tutorial. I love making these flowers, so fast and easy. I think I have shown these before but wanted to try my hand at a tutorial, so here goes.

You will need some pages from anything, but I used dictionary paper, I have also used music pages, but any paper would work. Also two sizes of scalloped punches as shown in picture above (you could also cut your own with scalloped scissors. Also if you like the old look, use distress ink to ink the edges of each petal. To hold them together I used a pearl brad but you could use buttons, glue or whatever you like.

After punching out the petals, (I used 4 larger ones and two smaller ones)

use the distress ink on a sponge and go along the outside edges of each petal. This is optional.

Then wad each petal in a little ball to give it some crinkles, then unfold them.

Place in a stack with the two small ones on the top and punch a pinhole in middle and add your brad.

Then starting with the top one, wad each petal up to make it fluffy.

Now you have a flower. I opted to put silver stickles glitter on the edges for more glitz but do whatever your style is. So easy peasy, I told you!!!!

My finished flower. Now you can add these in groups on anything, like gifts, antique books without their covers, wreaths, etc. The sky is the limit.

I glued my flower on the top edge of a clothes pin and used it on this paper bag gift bag. So cute. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and hope you will give it a try.

New Pink Wellies

I recently ordered some pink rose Wellington Rubber boots from Victorian Trading Co. and received them a couple of days ago and just had to show you. Are they just awesome? I have always wanted some of these, since it is rumored I am a decendant of the Duke of Wellington. So I had to have some Wellies, of course!

Actually, I bought them more for the decoration of placing them strategically by my front door but they will be great for snow and rain when I need them, and my husband offered to take some pics with me wearing them, so I had to dress the part with my white ruffled dress!! LOL

Well, think I will just set back, relax and admire my new Wellies!!!

I also want to mention I am thrilled that I am going to get to meet a fellow blogger this week, we talked on the phone last night, and can't wait to see her soon for lunch. Not going to tell you who it is yet, but will post our meeting soon. Happy Pink Saturday!!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

OH MY GOSH!!! I ran onto the most fabulous recipe site and found it on Pinterest. Sounded so good so I collected all the ingredients for them and this is what they look like.

Lucious pumpkin bread texture with a suprise of cream cheese and powdered sugar in the middle and a crumb mixture on top. Couldn't have bought anything so delicious. Please try them. You will find the recipe link here.

IT'S LOOKING FALLISH!!

Good morning my friends!! I am SOOOO excited. The weather is calling for 80 degree temperatures starting tomorrow after our two months of 100+ temps. We have missed summer due to the extreme heat here in Okla so we are so ready for some cool weather!!! And the anticipation of the cool has given me a fall outlook. I am showing today some of my fall, halloween cards I have made.

These cards come from some scrapbooking paper I bought last year that is all about "Alice in Wonderland" and I really love the paper.

These cute little "Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum" characters are so cute.

But I think maybe this one with the hare is my favorite.

This is the inside of the card. I will probably put some of these on my Etsy site, but if you are interested in any of them before I do that, please contact me.

I just have to share a good read with you all. This book "Unbroken" is definitely the BEST book I have ever read. Not only is it thrilling and chilling but a wonderful history book about WWII, a survival guide, and such an inspirational story. After reading this book, when I feel like I can't do something, all I have to do is remember what Louis Zamperini went through during this time and seek the inspiration it gave me. He was an Olympic runner whose time in that goal was interrupted by WWII and tells of his trials of being a POW and how he overcame so much. His plane crashed and he was in a raft with two other men on the ocean for approx. 40 days. I can't ruin the book for you so won't tell you anymore. I had the priviledge of meeting Mr. Zamperini, age 94 at my church last week. They will be making a movie of it in 2 years. Amazing man!!!

Making Punkins

My latest endeavor to create are these cute stuffed fabric pumpkins for your holiday decoration. They are fairly simple to make so I made two of

them yesterday while watching FOX news covering Hurricane Irene. So many of you out there were in the path of this storm and I was worried.

So glad to hear that you are alright!!

These pumpkins are fun to frill up and decorate. I plan to make more, maybe some with fall colored flowers on top also.

I tried to keep this one all tans, white and off white and used a quilted fabric for the base. Can't decide which I liked best.

Last week I had the honor of going to our local Expo Center and watching the touring Airforce entertainers of "Tops in Blue".. the theme this year was Rytham Nation. They sang songs beginning with WWI all the way to present and then their dedication to the 911 tragedy. If you are hungering for patriotism, you must go. I haven't missed a year since they started coming to our area, and hope I never miss one in the future. Outstanding.

Chair, Table Topper & Birdcage Finds

Last weekend I went shopping at my local Emporium and found some goodies I wanted to share with you. First, this lovely handmade crochet table topper was in perfect condition except for a teeny hole in the top of the fabric. Well, heck, " I can cover that up with a pot of roses", was my thinking and well, here it is. So lovely!! And so much work went into this.

Then I spotted this wonderful wing back chair in ghastly colors of dark green, orange, white and tan,but oh well, I thought, "I can cover that up with the pink rose sheets I have at home and then take it off for fall if I want to decorate with fall colors."

And wha-la, here it is all together, isn't she lovely all dressed in roses? I love it.

THEN, I saw this cute little bird cage for $11.00 and just HAD to have it with the thought,"I will paint that white", but I kind of like it like it is right now. Fall coming and everything. But eventually it will probably turn white.

Wanted to show you some more cards I made and will be listing on Etsy soon. Love making them, I'm hooked on this paper. Fairies, butterflies and roses.

And a note to Rebecca, thank you for your sweet words to me, you gave me a new bright light in my life. God is there for us all I know!!! You are such a lovely lady, thank you!!

Card Making Party

Last weekend Tammy and I had a card making extravaganza and had so much fun creating with this beautiful butterfly paper. I love the fairies and the butterflies.

There are so many different ways you can use this paper and with all the ribbon and embellishments who wouldn't want to receive a card like this?

This may be one of my favorites. Thanks Mel!!!

We always have a great time visiting and creating when we have one of these at her beautiful home and its a good time to regenerize for me!!!

And Tammy is hard a work creating her beautiful cards. See the teacup tray to her right? She made us tea and muffins to enjoy while we were lavishing in our work.

We had a beautiful rain last night, so refreshing after our 50 days of over 100 degree weather. Hopefully that over.

Rosey Table Cloth

I wanted to show my new bedspread, well, not so new, I purchased it at the thrift store, I am in love with anything roses. I have been wanting one to put on my dining room table and it is just the right size. I know it is sort of silly to put a blanket on a table, but I like how it looks, what do you think?

I keep this table set all the time for tea and it really makes the room brighten up. Aren't the rose buds cute in the tea cups? Just learned how to fold those, they are so easy. Just lay the napkin out flat and from one corner start folding till all folded over then roll the strip you have folded and place in cup. Instant rose.

The blanket also makes a good backdrop for picture taking, such as the picture below. I had mentioned I joined Karlas Cottage Birdsong tag party and I received my book from Karla this week.

We each made 6 tags with a bird theme and sent them to her, then she made a cover tag for us and sent them back as a book of tags. There are some talented ladies out there. I received some beautiful ones.

Hope I got one of yours back!!! Thanks Karla for a fun tag party again. Love her parties.

She does such a wonderful job on everything she touches. She is such a beautiful artist. Be sure to check out her blog.

What I've Been Up To

Last weekend I didn't post on my blog because we had a family reunion and didn't have time so I am showing you what I've been up to lately.
The beautiful sugar bowl above was a gift from my 95 year old beautiful aunt. She knows how I love dishes and she wanted me to have it. It belonged to her mother. I am so blown away she gave this to me and it means so much, I will treasure it forever.

Isn't it beautiful and so unusual.

I found this beauty at my local thrift store for $3.00. Just lovely, I collect creamers.

And I found this awesome piece yesterday at the antique store where I have a booth. It is soooo beautiful and I've wanted one of these forever!!!

She will have a place in my little craft room after I get it back together and straightened out. I say that because I moved a new piece of furniture into the room last night.

I have been crafting, just can't help myself. These were tea containers that I recovered and added some embellishments. These are good for pens and pencils, etc.

And this is a little book I am working on, each page is a pocket and you can put pictures in the pockets and on the fronts and backs of the pages, I will show the finished product later.

Last night I spent some time making bows for my future card making. My daughter Tammy and I are planning a card making day next weekend. Should be fun, it always is when I get to be with my BUSY daughter. She has to schedule me in, LOL. This is my new desk and hutch I moved in last night. The cosmetic case I painted roses on found a new home on one of the shelves. This case contains all the sweet notes from all my blogger friends I have collected over these past two years and I cherish each and every one.

I do not have the room back together yet, need to sort and arrange and organize but I will welcome the extra drawers and will have a place to use my computer here.

My Creative Space

Isn't it fun to have a place to create the things you love like this little fabric tag I made for a swap. I just enjoy creating things, no matter whether it be fabric, paper or wood. I love to be creative and it helps to have a place to call your own to go into your own little world and forget the worries and woes you have.

By the time I realized it was time for Karens Where Bloggers Create for 2011 it was too late to do much fluffing and primping to my creative space and it doesn't look any different than it did last year, lol, so I am giving you this link from last years post of my craft room to look at. Rosey Pink Saturday

Good weekend my bloggy friends, I wanted to show you some of my favorite hand painted rosey pieces I have around the house. A couple of years ago I was on the roll to paint roses all over everything I could get my paint brush on and I love them to this day. Suitcases are some of my favorites. I use these beauties to store my extra dishes.

I bought this little table at a garage sale for $1.00, it was natural wood, but kind of in bad shape so I used a crackle paint on it and then painted my roses on it and I must say it is probably one of my favorites.

I don't know why I haven't painted roses lately, this post is inspiring me to get back in it.

I keep this little beauty in my bathroom with a vase of silk roses on it.

And this is another suitcase, or travel case I guess is the proper name. This was my first attempt at painting one. This case holds some of my Old Country Rose china I have. Perfect place for nice china, no chance of getting broken.

And the top of it. LOVE ROSES, can you tell?

And this is just a vignette I have on top of a hutch I thought was cute.

Paper flowers

Recently I was blog hopping and ran onto a great blog (which I can not remember the name of, I am sorry about that), any how...... this lovely lady was making paper flowers. I thought "I can do that" so here is my attempt which I think turned out pretty well.

It started with pages out of an old dictionary I purchased at the thrift store for $.65. I sprayed the pages the colors I wanted with spray ink or you could water down acrylic paint and paint or spray over the paper. Let dry and cut out petals to your liking. I also cut some dryer sheets into petal shapes. I cut a circle of stiffer paper for a base and glued each petal to that going in a circle and layering as I went. Then after that dried I edged with silver glitter each petal and placed pearl beads in the center.

I glued tiny clothes pins on the back or your could use a hair clip. These will be great for gifts, or just to decorate something like a book or anything, even your sack lunch!!!!!

I like the one with the dryer sheets the best. You could add tulle, or any kind of fabric or paper. Fun project!!

My Patio and Yard

I am on a "Staycation" this week and decided to add some curtains to my patio for a little privacy and ambiance and I am loving it that way, although............

since I live in "WINDY" Oklahoma....................

there are only certain days I will enjoy this. The calm days!!! But I love it anyway. Guess I need to sew some metal weights to the bottoms of the curtains. I'll try that. One good thing about the Oklahoma wind though is it deters the mosquitoes which are horrid right now.

I am showing you a few shots of my yard for this post. Hope you enjoy it.

This is a shot from my patio, looking out to my lavender garden.

This would be my pond. The metal thing behind the angel at the back of the pond is part of my Dads combine. Go figure!!! But I love it cause it reminds me of my Dad.

The waterfall which I can hear in my house when I have the windows open. Soooo relaxing.

I used to have two ponds, but this year we decided to fill in the larger one and make it into an above ground vegetable garden. This would be one of my squash plants. Can you see the blooms and little squash on it?

And my red peppers which are still green right now.............

This is a shot of the whole garden. I have eight tomato plants. Hope they bear a lot of tomatoes as I love fresh tomatoes.

The lavender garden, it smells just wonderful.

And finally a resident who lives in my yard. She is a new mother, but I haven't seen the babies yet, just the nest. She is loving her new lawn chair.

Ephemra Folders

When I want to make a card or some other craft I hate it when I have to search for the appropriate ephemra to go with what I am making so I came up with a great idea, for me anyway!!!

I made these cute little file envelopes to put my ephemra in. I have found I need to make more of them though.

I took two pieces of cardstock and sewed them together in an envelope fashion. Then on a piece of wide lace I decorated the lace with little bits of my findings to make it cute, and then I sewed the lace to the envelope.

That way I have two places to stuff in the ephemra.

You can use your imagination and make some for everything you can think of. Wouldn't it be cute for your favorite recipes as a gift?

This one is for my favorite birthday things.

I use this one for vintage ephemra. You've got to love the Grandma card.

Birdies anyone?

I have a lot of bird ephemra so I made two. I keep these in a box standing up so it does not take up a lot of room. Hope you enjoyed this little craft I designed. Have a wonderful weekend. I am starting a staycation this week and hope to get a lot done.

Tag Swap and New Booth

I am participating in Karlas Bird Song Tag Swap and our project is to make 7 tags with a bird theme. Then we mail them to Karla and she makes a book out of them and sends us one back with a cover she made for each of them. These are the tags I made and sent to her. To see more about the swap click on the Bird Song link on my side bar.

I always get in a hurry and finish my projects, it's not really due until July.

LOL. Tags are so fun to make, they make a statement and are sooooo easy to make. And there are so many different ways to make them.

On these tags I added musical paper, glitter, spray ink, stamps and bird ephrema. For the hanger I used some yarn that reminds me of what a bird would put in its nest. Which reminds me, I have two morning doves that made a nest in my tree and layed an egg which has already grown into almost a full size dove. You can always tell the babies, they follow the momma around and shake their wings asking for something to eat. So cute. I also have some squirrel babies!!! Spring is full of babies.

I love to make these tags for different holidays and add to a gift or add them to a jar of jelly or any kind of gift sack. I have also printed a recipe on the back of a cute decorated tag.

I hope the ladies that receive one of my tags enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. Thanks Karla for the opportunity to join in the fun.

As I have posted before I have moved my booth to another store called Dees Hidden Treasures and have been working on getting it spruced up. These are the latest pictures of it.

My daughter Tammy and I share this booth.

I made a picket fence, white washed it and placed it on the back wall so that we can hang things on the wall as the owner will not let us put nails in the wall which I totally understand. It is getting there.

I enjoy making these sweet little bottles, just right for the bathroom vanity or bedroom.

I have been adding pieces to my kitchen the past few months, making it a Cupcake Kitchen. At Christmas time I decorate it in Gingerbread and now I have cupcake decor. My daughter Tammy made this cute wall hanging for me for my birthday. She did such a good job on it.

I ordered this sweet little Cupcake plaque recently, love the roses on it and she even included a little flower on a clothespin I clipped on it. I ordered it from Pink Butter Creme on her Etsy. So cute.

Tammy also gifted me with these cute cupcake salt and pepper shakers and a ceramic cupcake with removable lid. All these gifts were in a basket with all kinds of cupcake goodies. That is a flat balloon the salt and pepper shakers are setting on.

This cute little cookie cutter was also in the basket. She added ribbon to it.

These are some of my colorful sprinkles to decorate the cupcakes I make.

And of course the cupcake wrappers and picks to put in the cupcakes.

I found these great vintage sundae dishes at my local thrift store and also the spoon holder. Had to paint it white, of course.

Tammy made this sweet sprinkles jar and covered the lid with scrapbooking paper and added a cute little cupcake to the top.

Hope you enjoyed seeing all my cupcake goodies. My kitchen is a tiny kitchen, I can stand in the middle of my kitchen, turn north, south, east and west and still be within 3 steps of a cabinet. Very small but it has served me well in the 35 years I have lived here. I have raised two children here and have cooked Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for 8 family members each year. My daughter and son learned to cook in this kitchen. I would say it is user friendly (for one to two cooks) even though it is small.

Happy 3rd Birthday PINK SATURDAY!!!! I am joining the other pink bloggers to celebrate this wonderful party Beverly throws for us each and every Saturday. It's such fun and I appreciate all she does. Thanks Bev!!

For this Pink Saturday post, I want to show you my latest, priceless, purchase of this PINK crinoline I bought from the Junk Gypsy last week.

I have wanted one of these for years. As a child I wore these and had several (oh how I wish I still had mine). I have looked and looked for a place to buy one but had no luck.

Then I was looking at Fifi O'Neills blog and she was showing one she was going to wear to an event she was going to and I went directly to the link she showed and well, the rest is history. I am in love with it!!! The ones I used to wear were stiffer but this one is beautiful and I LOvE It!!!!

I'snt it the sweetest pink you have ever seen?

I am letting my lady Olivia wear it in my bedroom and I think she wears it well, don't you? It's so fun to play dress up when your all grown up too.

On a more somber note, please pray for all the people in Oklahoma, Missouri and all states that have had so much devestation from the tornados this week and last. My state of Oklahoma has been torn from 7 of them this week and there have been several deaths of small children, it is just heartbreaking. Please join me in praying for the families that have lost so much.

Welcome to My New Booth

Today I want to show you my latest endeavour. I have moved my booth to a different store in my local downtown antique store, newly established by two sweet sisters. It is called Dees Hidden Treasures. When I first moved in I rented the only small space which was at the very back of the store and had poor lighting.

I was happy with it, even though it was small, but then Linda and Dee decided I should move closer to the front so they made this wonderful space just for me and even moved me themselves.

I love the booth, now if I just had more time to work on getting things in here.........where does my time go?

I love this picnic basket I painted but decided to let someone else enjoy it.

The booth has potential, it is only 3 weeks old and I have a lot of work ahead of me spiffing it up and adding things to it. It is the only "pink" shabby booth in the whole store, I hope it goes over well. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know a lot of you have had booths and know the ropes.

We had a wonderful rain last night, the first good rain of the Spring season and a real drought buster. Now my gardens will grow!!! I know a lot of you have had so much rain it is flooding but Oklahoma was in a drought before this.

Pink Saturday

Good morning friends!! And a Happy Pink Saturday to you all. It is so cold here in Okla. this morning, 40 degrees in fact, we had to turn on the heater, can you believe it. Just had to show you my favorite room as it looks early every morning with the sun shining in from the East, I love this picture.

I am running out of Pinks, I need to get some inspiration and find something new to show you I know, but for today I will show you parts of my home inside and out. The above picture is a little vignette I have on my fireplace hearth. I am crazy about bird houses.

Now to the outside. See the green glider? My hubby bought this for me for Mothers Day and we spent all day putting it together in the 90 degree weather, but it was worth it. I love it.

I just love the outside in the Spring, so refreshing and I love my pinks outside too.

Last year I showed you my patio, but for those of you who missed it, I am showing you again. I made the pink pillow covers out of a thrift store bedspread I found. They are removable and washable.

My lavender is starting to come out more and starting to bloom and the red roses just look lovely with them.

This little angel is hiding in my flower bed under a rose bush.

And this great frog is a solar light my Mom got me for my birthday. Love it.

A Renewal of Spring

The first thing I want to do is honor my dear, sweet Mom for Mothers Day this weekend. My Mom is the most giving, loving, strong, sweet person you could ever find. In all my life, I have never seen her lose her temper or say anything mean or hateful to or about anyone. My Dad once said when I was little "If ever there were an angel on earth, your Mom is one." I believe he is right!!! Happy Mothers Day Mom, I love you.

Now I want to show you how my garden has begun to flourish and shows its beautiful renewal. I always love to get up each morning and see what beautiful flowers have emerged for that day and what surprise God has for me in my gardens.

I love flowers, Spring and statuary and today I am showing you some of my Spring finery and gardens. The picture above is my patio, I love the little fairy statue and the iron antique gate behind it.

This little lady with her butterfly net lives on my patio also.

This is my front yard where my hydrangeas and hosta are planted, I sooooo love hydrangeas and can't wait for them to bloom. The little statue waterfall is very special to me. The neighbor that lived across the street passed away a couple of years ago and her children gave it to me because they knew how I loved her.

This is my lavender garden. When it is in full bloom it is gorgeous and smells wonderful. There is a rose in that bed also. The rose used to be pink but turned red. STRANGE!!

This beautiful geranium was a gift to me from my boss for Secretary Day.

My roses are just beautiful this week. They always do so well at the first of Spring but when the Oklahoma winds and heat come they don't do as well.

This is one of my 5 peony plants. It smells like heaven and the blooms are so big and beautiful. Beside hydrangea this may be one of my favorites. (Who am I kidding, roses are my favorite).

I took this picture of a peony bud and almost deleted it but then I noticed the little ladybug in the top of the picture and thought it was so cute.

This closeup shot is of one of my clematis blooms. BEAUTIFUL!!! The blooms are as big around as a saucer almost.

And this is the vine with the flowers.

Pink Saturday

April 27th was my birthday and I wanted to show you what my beautiful family gifted me with. First up, this sweet box full of rose painted eggs my daughter made me. Isn't it sweet. All glittered up, I hate to take the eggs out of the box it is so pretty.

And this sweet basket full of cupcake goodies. She knows I am doing my kitchen in cupcakes and made me some cute little cupcake goodies and purchased a cupcake cookie cutter, scone mix, ceramic cupcake and cookie sprinkles. What a SWEET gift.

My family knows I love garden ornaments so my Mom got me this cute solar light frog. He will find a place near my pond.

And my handsome son got me this great butterfly garden rock and a gift certificate to our local plant nursery. I recently made an above ground garden and these gifts will find a home there. I love them.

This is the cupcake canvas my daughter made me, I will hang it in my kitchen. Too cute!!

Did everyone watch the Royal Wedding? I woke up at 3:30 and watched it wearing my tea hat and pj's on!!! Loved it!! Such a fairy tale.

Easter Tea and Matchbox Swap

Last weekend my daughter Tammy gave my Mom and I a sweet Easter Tea at her home. It was so lovely and she made everything to be perfect, sweet and beautifil. She is holding a tussie mussie I made her for a hostess gift in this picture. She loves to do these parties but I don't know where she gets the time, (or the energy) she is so busy.

This was a little box (which she made) of Easter treats, I am in love with the chicky head. We each had one of these at our place setting.

This is her and I at her table setting before we dove in and ate it all up!!!

And Tammy and Mom with cucumber sandwiches in the foreground. MMMM they were delicious.

This is a closeup of the tussie mussies I made. I stuffed them with Easter candy. They were such fun to make and only took a few minutes to design.

I brought chocolate chip and toffee scones. Tammy had the cookies and the tea was mahvalous!!!!!

I gussied the scones up a little bit and they were delicious. I am not going to divulge anymore of Tammys party, she will post the whole party and I don't want to spoil it for you, it is so beautiful. She really did a lot of work hosting this beautiful tea. I should be ashamed of myself, that I havent posted about the beautiful matchbox I received from Liz of Rose Vignettes last week.

This is the box I sent to her. We were participating in the Matchbox Swap with Laura of Decor to Adore.

And this beauty is what Liz sent to me. Isn't it beautiful? She did such a wonderful job of designing it just for me and I love everything about it. The key really caught my eye.

Liz stuffed it full of great findings and a sea shell. I thought that was such a cute idea putting them in cupcake papers.

I so adore all the great things she put inside the matchbox and isn't the tag she made great!!!!

Spring Craft Linky Party

I am participating in the Spring Craft Linky Party hosted by Laura of Decor to Adore showing something we had made for Easter decor. So I am showing a couple of things I have made. One being this cute little hanger I made from scrapbook paper, lace, tulle, trim and a flower I made with a covered paper button.

I love making these buttons and putting them in the middle of a paper flower.

I made this cute spring bird a crown and now I have a royal bird!!!

The heart on the left was a favorite of mine to make. Again, scrapbook paper on chipboard, lace, ribbon, beads and you have a little hanger. The little packet on the right is just right for a little gift or gift card. It is made from a toilet paper center that was smashed, covered with paper and embellished. I used wire for the hangers.

The pink rose was made from rolled crepe paper and I glittered it.

Pringles Grab & Go Challenge

There are so many different ways you can decorate these cute little cans

and use them for a lot of different uses. I use mine for my pens and pencils and one for my paint brushes and various long tools.

I wanted to show you another one I made quite a while ago, but it is made from a fruit can instead of the Pringles can but it is the same idea. I really love this one and use it a lot.

Matchbox Swap

I joined in on the fun of Laura of Decor to Adore's Spring Matchbox Swap and it was so much fun making these cute little boxes. This is the one I made Laura, above. I was matched with my partner Liz of Rose Vignettes and the boxes below

are what I designed for her. I had so much fun making these little boxes not really knowing what I wanted it to look like but since Liz told me she had blue in her home, I went for the blue and being spring, what better than a little bird setting in the splendor of flowers and ribbon as a nest!!

I'm sorry I didn't think to open the drawer to show you what was inside. I will let Liz show you the little treasures I stuffed inside. I can't wait to get my packages to see what Laura and Liz designed for me. I will take pictures and show you when I receive them.

We are having tornadic weather here in Okla. this evening, just had hail but wasn't too big and we needed the little rain we received.

For The Birds

Happy Pink Saturday fellow bloggers. Its such a cheery, sunny, spring day today and today my theme is BIRDS!!!

Getting all my little birdhouses out to hang and place on my patio for all my feathered friends.

But the main attraction of todays post is the sweet Bird Tea my daughter Tammy hosted for my mom and I last weekend. As always, it was well thought and maticulously carried out to the "tea". She always makes everything so sweet and heavenly to look at.

She has opened a little hostess gift I made for her to write her memories of this little tea party in and have to remember it.

Her sweet table was just gorgeous with the birdcage as a centerpiece and beautiful green glass dishes. She made the placecards and napkin rings.

Just beautiful.

This is a closeup of the little mini book I made. This idea was from Tim Holtz video on mini books.

Places to write in the book and you can slip pictures, etc., in to the pockets on the ends of the pages.

And of course a teacup on the back to signify the tea party. This was such a fun time for Tammy, my Mom and myself, a memory to hold dear to my heart forever. If you would like to see more of this tea party be sure to check out Tammys blog here.

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday friends. It finally came, SPRING IS HERE!!!! WHOO HOO!!!! My hyacinths were just beautiful this year, and my redbud is blooming and all my daffodils. And that puts me in the Easter decorating mood. So I am showing you today some of my little Easter decor.

Sweet Mr and Mrs Bunnies.

These are some plastic eggs I covered with musical paper pieces and decorated with flowers and ribbons. These are from last year but I still love them. So easy peasy to make too. Just Elmers and little pieces of paper.

This sweet little bunny may be one of my favorites, so sweet!

And who doesn't love baby chicks? I do, they remind me of my childhood on the farm in Wakita. We had baby chicks every year.

This is my Easter Candy Bar that I decorate with each holiday. I love it. If you cant figure out the fluffy thing with the hat, its a chicky also in an egg.

I'm not done decorating yet, because I got sick with an upper respiratory infection and have been in bed sick most of the week. Feeling better today and I get to go to a tea at my daughter Tammys home in the morning. I made scones and lemon curd to take. She always has the best tea parties for me and my Mom. What do you do when you have lots of beautiful ribbon, paper and embellishments and a great inspiration?

The inspiration being BIRDS!!!!

You make crafts like these.........! My daughter Tammy and I had a craft day last weekend and she was decorating her home with bird decor so it inspired me to do something with birds in mind also, so this is what I came up with. A banner spelling out "NEST".

Then I threaded tulle through each one to hang and added a ribbon to each end. This is not the actual one I made at Tammy's house, I gave that one to her, but I liked it so well, I made another one. I will be listing it on Etsy probably tomorrow. On another day I decorated this cute little match box for an Easter treat, think I will put this on Etsy also.

Using My Good Stuff

I am joining Karla's Link Party of using our best instead of hoarding it for something special. I keep my very best embellishments in one of these pretty jars. Isn't it funny how you collect all this to use and then you don't?

But I did use this darling frozen charlotte I purchased from Karla. I used her idea and made a fairy charlotte out of her and put in a peat pot. But I'm keeping this one. I don't have much access to the F.C.'s and love this.

Another itty bity frozen charlotte I bought from Karla stands up tall on a pin cushion I made. So sweet. The Charlotte's are precious to me.

She needs some fairy wings doesn't she?

And I have started using my favorite ear bobs and buttons I have been saving for just that special something. Well, I have been making flowers with them and love how they look. They are for the hair, a purse, or bag, or just pin on your favorite t-shirt or jacket.

I will let you browse through the rest of my flowers without talking........!

It's a Pink Saturday SCORE!!

Hello my sweet friends!!! I have the PINKS to show you this week and I will start with this extra ordinary sweet pink hat I scored at my local Emporium Antique store for only, can you believe, $8.95? I promise, that is what it cost. Isn't it the sweetest hat you have ever seen? To me it looks

like a rose. Can't you just see that on some little lady setting in church on Easter morning. Oh I wish I could see a picture of whoever owned this sweeeeet hat!

I am displaying it on my tea table, all dressed up and ready for you all to come to tea with me!!! Wouldn't that be FUN!! You are all invited.

And a close up of the little buds all around the bottom of the hat. Sweet!

AND..... I wanted to show you what I did with a tablecloth I had made a couple of years ago out of some purchased material. I was looking through my stash of leftover material the other day and noticed I had some of the same fabric, hmmmmm, just enough for a RUFFLE around the bottom and you see how it turned out. I love it!! So romantic with ruffles.

So easy to do, yet such a difference. I may just start putting ruffles on everything I can!! LOL

And I have been in my studio, (doesn't that sound distinguished?) LOL, well anyway my craft room making some more Easter egg hangers. I will probably put this on my Etsy in the next day or so.

And what is Pink Saturday without one of my sweet little pink tea cups and roses. Loved this picture so just had to add it too.

The weather in Okla. last week has been so nice I have been walking every day I can but tomorrow it is suppose to be back in the 30's so guess Winter is still here.

PINK SATURDAY

I am sharing with you today some of my crafts I have sent out this week as special orders. I so enjoy making Easter crafts and loved making the little bunny Happy Easter hanger that is shaped like an easter egg.

And the same customer (Tea) also ordered these little nut/mint cups I made her with crepe paper wrapped around a little cup and embellished with tulle, ribbons and flowers. They turned out so cute and I added a little butterfly to each of them.

Aren't the pastel colors so sweet?

I am also showing you the sweet tea towels my Mom has been working on. She is 84 and likes to embroidery and I am going to try to sell them for her . She does such a good job. There are three different patterns. I am not sure how much to ask for them. Do you think $10.00 is a good price. I am the worlds worst about pricing things. Please tell me what you think.

These are two of her creations. So SWEET!!!

Several months ago Rebecca sold me the little pink lady in the middle of this pillow as an image on cotton fabric. I held onto it until I decided exactly what I wanted to do with it because I loved it so much and wanted it to be something really special. Well, as you see I decided to see if I could make some of the beautiful pillows Rebecca and others make. So here it is. I fell in love with it. And believe me, a LOT of work goes into these pillows these ladies make.

Isn't she just beautiful?

I must show you my orchid. I have been growing orchids for about 10 years now, I have two. And they each bloom once a year around Valentines Day and the blooms last at least a month. This year this white orchid has astounded me.

Not only are the blooms just gorgeous, see the face of this one..........?

But look at the size of the blooms. I put my hand next to the blooms just to show you how huge they are!!! Seven beautiful blooms and one more about to pop out any time. They are so lovely and I enjoy them so much.

Cupcakes and Pinks

I have been in the cupcake mood lately, I think they are so cute and seems like you can find a lot of decor that is cupcakes so I am showing some of my kitchen. This is a little vignette I call my "candy and cupcake bar" in my kitchen. I love the picture of the cute cupcake. See the roses border around it? Of course I had to have roses somewhere.

I made these cupcakes for my daughters birthday this month.

Pretty pink roses on these. Look good enough to eat don't they? We did!!!

And a pink kiss just for you. I bought up all the pink kisses I could find during Valentine season just for decorating. Well, I sneak one to eat once in a while too.

I love to buy the colorful sprinkles for cookies and cupcakes, it just makes me happy to look at the pretty colors.

Arent these pretty? Makes me want to go make some more cupcakes!!

I made some of these little nut cups last year at Easter, so made some more this year, I LOVE EASTER TIME, I love the pastel colors, I love all the bunnies and chickeys and peeps!!!

I love Easter so much I am already making Easter decor and have listed this one and the one below on my Etsy Shoppe. They are for wall hangings or door hangers.

Valentine Pink Saturday

This week for Pink Saturday Beverly of How Sweet the Sound asked us to show our Valentine Pinks. I have a lot of hearts in my home so I went all over my home taking pictures of all the Valentines and hearts I could find. Most of which I have made except for the purchased cards like this sweet

cupid card with roses (of course). I am so crazy about roses, just can't get enough of them.

And everyone has seen these banners I make out of hearts.

I especially love this little vignette, it includes my late grandmother Jessie's coffee pot (the one on the far right) that she always brewed her coffee in.

This is on my other grandmother Violets buffet.

I made this little wall hanging last year. So sweet!!

And I also made this little hanger with the little crystal beading at the bottom. Isn't she the cutest little girl?

I stuffed some hearts and added some lace and placed on the sweet little pedestal dish Rebecca painted. Sorry R. I covered up your sweet rose.

Some cookies I made from foam and wall spackling. Hard to believe isn't it?

I love glitz and this heart is certainly that.......sequined heaven.

And last my candy corner in my kitchen with pink chocolate kisses and Valentine heart candys with the cute sentiments. I hope everyone has a beautiful, romantic Valentines Day. Mini Fabric Swap

I used vintage lace on the bottom of it, a crocheted doily lots of fabric roses and a vintage brooch. I stamped the image on some cotton rose fabric and sewed it all together on off white quilted fabric. Marie, I peeked at your blog and I love what you are sending me. Oh, so pretty.

13" Snow

We woke up this morning to this sight. We got 13" of snow, but now the sun is shining. This is a shot of my pond and all you can see is the waterfall. I've got to get out there and put bird seed in the feeder. I have one on the other side of the house with feed but the snow is so deep I havent filled this one yet. We are snowed in and I'm not working today soooooo.......

Happy Birthday Sweet Daughter

Today is my first borns thirty something birthday!!! Happy Birthday Tammy. Can't believe she is a grown woman with her own home. Seems like just yesterday I was carrying her on my hip showing her off to all my friends and family. She was always smiling. I would make her little outfits on my sewing machine. Darn, I do need to get my scanner out so I can show you some of the cutest pictures of my kids when they were little!!

Anyway, Tammy, just wanted to wish you the happiest of Birthdays today and we will see you tonight at your Birthday/Super Bowl Watch party. I love you so much.

Pink Saturday

Today I am showing you some groupings I have around the house that I like. The pillar with the angels was purchased at our Emporium Antique Store where I have a booth. The box with roses in it was hand painted by Rebecca. I love all my treasures from Rebecca

This sweet angel was given to me by my sweet son Jeremy for Christmas. I just love her.

Some rosey dishes and rose picture accompanied by a sweet bird cage given to me by my sweet daughter just because.

You know I hadn't really noticed, but I guess you could call this my bird-rose room. I have a lot of bird houses along with my favorite roses. Tea, there is the sweet little pillow you sent me. So sweet.

And isn't this the cutest idea. Cupcake papers shown off in my kitchen in a big glass jar I found at the antique store also. I got this great idea from Such Pretty Things. Great blog, be sure to visit her. Love all the sweet pastel colors she shows off and she is in the latest issue of Artful Blogging.

I AM ONE OF FIFI'S WINNERS

How many of you had this horrible snow, ice, wind storm today? I didn't go to work, not because of the 5" of snow we got but the terrible temperatures. It is 10 degrees right now and will be 2 tonight. Very dangerous. Not sure if I will go tomorrow either.

But this post is a happy post because I was one of the lucky winners of some beautiful prints that Fifi offered on her giveaway several weeks ago. I received them a few days ago, haven't been able to get them framed yet but will. The wonderful artist of these prints is Audrey E. Heredia. The following is written by her and was included in my prize. Such a talented artist. (sorry these are so blurry)

The first print I am showing is "Afternoon Tea". Isn't it just beautiful? I especially love the little bird setting on the daisy stem in front of the gate. Such lovely detail.

The other print I received is a Christmas print which I love so much as it has gingerbread cookies in the picture, (hence my name being Ginger). This print is called "From Christmas Past". Notice the picture over the fireplace. It is the painting of the previous print, "Afternoon Tea". Isn't it wonderful?

Who wouldn't love these wonderful prints? And it brings back the wonderful homespun Christmas memories we all have.

It makes it even more special that the words of the artist are sent with these delightful prints and makes it even more special.

Fifi, I hope you know how special I feel to have won these beautiful prints and I will cherish them forever. I will show you what they look like after I get them framed. Oh, I almost forgot, Vivian of McCharles House, where these were sent from made a telephone call to me before they were shipped and we had a lovely conversation. Such a lovely lady.

Good Pink Saturday morning my friends. Today I want to show you what I have been up to and having a blast doing it. These little tags are so much fun to make and they take no time at all to finish one. So instead of one I made many, like 25 so far!!! A good way to get rid of some of that scrap leftover paper you have.

I can't take credit for the idea. I saw Tobi's blog at Pink Pixie Forest where she had made some of these and loved them so much I had to try my hand at it and so in love with them.

These are great for a little tag to add to a gift, tie on a jar, you could even write a recipe on the back, or whatever. I am making a bunch of them up for different holidays and birthdays and I will have them available when I need them. Thank you Tobi for the beautiful idea. If you haven't seen Tobi's blog you MUST go over and say hi.

The ones with the little girls are so sweet, there are so many possibilities.

I am in the process of making these sweet Easter tags, aren't they sweet? I just bought the tags at my local office supply store, tore some scrapbooking paper and glued it down, distressed around the pictures with ink and added some glitter (stickles actually). I will add ribbons to the holes and maybe some flowers or other embellishments as I use them.

Its A Porch Club

I just learned of a great Porch Club that Jill at Gypsy Brocante is hosting beginning Jan. 31, 2011 that really sounds fun. She will have a Porch of the Month and all the ladies who want to participate can visit on a Monday morning.

You can read all about it by going to her great blog and look for the Jan. 24 post. She explains it all a lot better than I can. It sounds like a great time and you don't even have to have a porch!!! I am so ready for Spring but Monday we are suppose to get a significant snow storm. Maybe this porch party will help bring Spring in our spirit.

In a Crafting Mood

Today I am showing a cute little heart pillow I made to put in my Etsy Shoppe. It came out very

cute I think. I have been in the creating mood. Made cards yesterday, worked on this pillow, and worked on a swap I am making for the Mini Fabric Collage Swap sponsored by A Swap for All Seasons. I actually bought this great little kitchen angel, but wouldn't be easy to make, it is just a dishcloth, dishtowel and pot holder. Cute, cute, cute!!

This is one of the cards I made. I got my inspiration from a dear lady who is talented beyond measure. She works at my local scrapbook store, One Page at A Time. Thanks Mel!!!

This one is also from her inspiration, I love the little crepe paper flower I made like hers. Isn't this line of paper the cutest thing with the little love birds?

Well, this is the greatest thing. I have always wanted a cabinet where I can store some of my art supplies and I found just that. It is an old radio cabinet and I am going to store my embellishments and other art supplies. I have been going to our local thrift stores, and about each time I go I find a cute apothacary jar or decorative jar to put some of my supplies in. See all of them on top?

My only problem is whether to paint this cabinet or leave it natural antique. I love the antique look but I am thinking I am going to paint it. We will see?

The doors are even great on the inside. I guess when they used to listen to the radio it was a decorative piece even while open.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow is my wonderful son Jeremy's birthday. He will be 33 and we will have cake and ice cream tomorrow evening. Can't believe my baby is 33!!! Where did the time go.

Good morning and Happy Pink Saturday my friends!!! It is a wonderful day today, suppose to be in the 40's instead of single digits, so I am excited. Today I am showing some of my Valentine cards I have been making such as the one above. How fun are Valentine crafts? Maybe my favorite.

I love all the different embellishments that are offered to us in this day and age. I remember when there were very limited items to buy to embellish. Maybe a ribbon, lace and a button and that was about it. Now we have stamps, frames, roses, images, rhinestones and pearls and all kinds of dyes to change the colors of whatever we have.

In this computer age we also have so many vintage images we can print out and design the lettering just as we want it. I LOVE IT!!!!

I ran across these awesome cupcake baking cups and couldn't leave the store without two packages. Aren't they so romantic and lovely for a valentine party!!! Shaped like a flower and the design is roses on each cup.

This is a Valentine banner I am making as a special order for my friend Tea. Hope she loves it!! I know I am having a good time making it just for her.

Also wanted to share some Valentines with you!!! I had made this cute banner last week and put it in my Etsy shop. Then Saturday, my daughter Tammy and I had a Valentine craft day and spent most of the day making cards and Valentines. We love to do that together and get ideas from each other.

This is one I made, Tammy will blog her cards on her blog. I really enjoyed making this one.

And of course we had to get a picture of the two of us to remember this day. It was a KODAK MOMENT!!

I love making this pink, fu-fu cards, they make my heart sing.

I think of all of the cards I made I enjoyed this wall hanging heart I made the most. It was SO easy and went together so sweetly. I never have a plan, I just start designing and sometimes its good and sometimes not so good, but this one was GOOD! I listed it on Etsy.

This is a picture of my mine and Tammys cards. She has a real gift of designing, not only crafts, but decorating her home also.

A Giveaway Celebration

Happy New Pink Year

Happy New Year to everyone, yesterday I spent most of the day putting my house back to my normal PINK!!! I love holiday decorations but feel so serene when I get it back to my shabby, pink and roses decor. It is sooo soothing to me. (Except, why don't they make TV cozies to cover up that black?)

I don't have my things fine tuned yet, forgot where I had things before, but guess that's the neat thing about it, having it different each time.

I love the shabby look, not everything matching, just a lot of pink and roses everywhere.

Look at these amazing dishes I set my dining table with. I had the small plates and my daughter bought these larger plates for me for Christmas. So festive looking. Please check out my daughter Tammys blog she shows all her different rooms decorated for Christmas. She is quite the little decorator and has a knack of making it just beautiful. She made like 5 posts in a row.

Pink Saturday and Merry Christmas

Well my friends today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow is the big day we have all been preparing for. My hubby and I are watching "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby. If you can believe it, this is my first time to watch it. I have spent most of the morning making some of the food we will have tomorrow for Christmas dinner when my family arrives.

I made a batch of snicker doodles this morning as well as some more almond sugar cookies in the shape of gingerbread men. We are having ham, scalloped potatoes, salad, biscuits, cranberry salad, and lots of desserts including rum cake, my favorite.

May each and every one of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all your friendships and may 2011 be a prosperous year for us all.

Easy Cookies

These cookies were so easy to make I was amazed. I bought a package of sugar cookie mix, the dry kind, made the cookie dough as directed but added 1 Tsp. almond extract and 2 T. flour. Rolled them out and baked as directed. Then I melted the chocolate chips and white chocolate chips and dipped each cookie in the chocolate. Wonderful tasting cookies.

You can add sprinkles or whatever you like. The colored sugars or crushed peppermints would be cute too. I just love the almond taste.

I have taken all my Christmas listings off Etsy and added some new items like this little bag I made...

And this little reversible apron......

How about a tea flag to greet your guests at your next tea party.

Or some dish towels.

Hope everyone has all their shopping and baking done, I am finished, just waiting for Santa now.

Pink Saturday

For this Pink Saturday I am showing some of my favorite ornaments, some old some new. The first one is made by the talented and lovely Miss Rebecca. I LoVe this sweet ornie, with its sugary pink. So beautiful.

And I LoVe this one made by Miss Roselle. This little angel is so sweet on my white tree. Be sure to look at both these lovely ladies blogs. So talented.

This glass ball was some my kids and I made with clear glitter glue, writing our names on them. They were some of the prettiest ornaments I had for a long time.

I made this ornament from strips of paper, curled on a quiller and then glued together. Then added some glitter.

This ornament looks like the ones they sell now, but actually this little silver plastic ornie was one of the ornaments my Mom decorated our trees when I was a child, ahhhhhh I can still smell the sweet pine smell. Thanks Mom and Dad for the memories.

I think this must have been some of my first ART? work. I made a new ornament for my son and daughter each year and this was Tammy's. I have given all their ornaments to them but had this one for some reason.

This was another ornament from my childhood. Do you remember the old heavy silver icicles we hung on the tree? And the big lights. Those were the days.

And this may be my most special ornament right now. A picture of my sweet Star that is no longer with us. I put this on my tree each year. She was such a love and I miss her so.

This sweet Santa is another wonderful creation from Rebecca. Isn't it beautiful and I was lucky enough to snag one before they were all snatched up.

And this lovely heart sign with the words "Believe" was painted by Rebecca also. Just can't get enough of this sweet lady's art.

And last I added a picture of myself saying to all my blogging friends, "I am so lucky you have all come into my life, I have so many wonderful friends and I cherish each and every one of you. I wish you ALL a Very Merry CHRISTMAS, and a Happy New Year!!"

A Gingerbread Kitchen

I am so in love with my gingerbread kitchen. Having the name of Ginger, I have always been fond of the gingerbread theme. And it is so darn CuTe!!!!! Don't you love the Christmas season?

Every year I try to collect yet another cute gingerbread ornament for my tree or another cute gingerbread man or lady for my shelves.

This picture is shooting from inside my kitchen toward my den. I have shelves around the top on three sides where I can put gingerbread people.

I made the little fat gingerbread bag keeper last year. It replaces my original bag lady during the Christmas season. Very handy to keep your plastic grocery bags in and it was so easy to make. I made it out of two pieces of felt and used rickrack to decorate with button eyes. Then put a casing at the bottom with elastic to cinch it up a little.

My daughter made these sweet gingerbread towels for me one Christmas. Aren't they sweet?

She did a really great job on them.

Isn't this candy tree the cutest thing. The tree and gingerbread man are my latest addition to my collection.

This is the gingerbread tree and looking into my dining/tea room you can see the white and pink tree. I did some shopping this evening at my last destination that I have been avoiding. But finally I dove in and just did it. Boy was I ever sorry! You would think on a Friday afternoon there wouldn't be too many people there, but was I ever wrong. And I witnessed a near fist fight in the store, police being called, babies crying their heads off, carts hitting you from all directions........................ well that is Christmas season at Wal-Mart. LOL, Merry Christmas. Thank the Lord I don't have to go back there again.

For Pink Saturday we are suppose to tell our favorite holiday movie. Well, mine is and will always be "One Magic Christmas". I took my children to see this movie when they were children and it is such a great movie. They learn the true meaning of Christmas after the children were almost drowned in a river but an angel saves them. GOOD movie.
