Okay, this is my FIRST time on the new blogger and I am not liking it so far, but I will figure it out. Today I am sharing with you a little piece of my past. My family moved to an old farmhouse built in the late 1800s or early 1900s when I was 5. My brother and my rooms were upstairs. The door that went to the upstairs was closed and opened each time we entered the stairs or left it. In 1962 my family decided to move to the city and my farm life, my best friends and my dear childhood home would be gone from my life forever. I just wanted to have one piece of my past and then I eyed the doorknob on the door to my world. I took that old doorknob and for years it just set on a shelf, and each time I looked at it, the memories came pouring back.
Until one day, my neighbors mother was having a garage sale and I found a door, which he sold me for $10.00 if I remember correctly. I white washed it and set it in front of my door in the kitchen, next to my pantry. My husband cleaned up the door plate and I attached it. Then it caught my eye, there was a perfect home for my childhood door knob!!! The rest is history.... I added a decorative key and now my door knob is in its perfect place.
Isn't it great what creative minds come up with? Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am linking (I hope) with Pink Saturday and Show and Tell Friday.
